How to Install MillBox on Windows

This guide walks you through a clean install of MillBox on Windows. Before you begin, confirm your PC meets the recommended specs and temporarily disable or uninstall third-party security software to avoid installer conflicts.

Pre-installation requirements

Third-party security exclusions

  • Temporarily disable or uninstall antivirus or endpoint protection during install

  • After installation, add MillBox and its folders to Windows Security and your security app’s exclusions

  • Close all other applications before running the installer

Recommended PC specs

  • OS: Windows 11 Pro 64-bit

  • CPU: Intel Core i9-12900KS or AMD Ryzen 9 9950X3D

  • RAM: 32 to 64 GB

  • GPU: NVIDIA GTX or RTX with 4 GB dedicated VRAM or more

  • Storage: 1 TB SSD or HDD

  • Display: 25 inch 4K monitor or dual-monitor setup

Step 1. Download the installer

Contact Level Up Support to receive the current MillBox installer for your license and machine profile.

Step 2. Run the installer

a) Locate the file

Open your Downloads folder or the location where you saved the installer.

b) Run as administrator

Right-click the installer and choose Run as administrator. This will elevate the necessary privileges to install MillBox correctly, regardless of the user account's permission level.

c) SmartScreen prompt

Note: You might see the Windows protected your PC message when launching the installer. Click Run anyway to proceed.

d) Unpacking

MillBox will start unpacking the installation files into a temporary folder. Wait while the installer extracts files to a temporary folder.

e) Setup wizard

Click Next to continue through the wizard.

Click Install to begin the installation.

Step 3. FileHub is included

MillBox installs FileHub alongside the CAM. FileHub is a free utility for STL work such as mesh repair, orientation, measurement, and thickness view.

Step 4. Reboot

  • First-time MillBox installs require a reboot to complete driver and runtime registration

  • If MillBox was already installed on this PC, a reboot is usually not required

Step 5. Launch MillBox

After installation you will see two desktop icons.

  • MillBox CIM 23 is the standard application

  • MillBox CIM 23 Expert is the advanced version for users with MillBox Expert

Double-click MillBox CIM 23 to start.

Installing a core update

To install a CIMsystem core update, repeat the same steps above using the update file. MillBox must already be installed before you run the update.

Quick checklist

  • Security software temporarily disabled or uninstalled and exclusions planned

  • PC meets recommended specs

  • Installer run as administrator

  • SmartScreen handled with Run anyway

  • Reboot completed if this is the first MillBox install

  • Launched the correct icon for your license, Standard or Expert
