Depending on the design of the restoration, the exported interface may have a larger diameter than the actual design interface. This results in cutting the external meshes of the case, which may give the appearance that the replacement implant is higher than the STL.
Resolution
To resolve this, you can create a replacement rule to specify the mesh area you wish to cut before executing the replacement/
Click Tools.
Click Connections
Click Replace
Select the Interface you’d like to replace.
During the identification of the original interface for replacement (Step 1), click the icon on the lower left of the screen
This opens up the Cutting Rule screen.. Type the name of the interface.
Click ‘Coupling Position’ and move the black dot’s position for alignment of the interface.
Once done, the icon will have a check mark:
Click the ‘+’ sign to start specifying the area that you’d like to consider as part of the cutting rule.
Adjust the height and diameter by clicking the ‘+’ and ‘-’ signs. You’ll notice the cylinder adjusting reak time.
Click the check mark to confirm. The newly created cutting rule will automatically be highlighted. You can then proceed with the Replace workflow as normal.
