How to do a Manual Calibration in a Roland DWX-51D

It is advisable to perform auto-correction in your Roland machines if you are noticing quality issues in your milled parts.However, there are times that these issues are still evident even after performing the auto-correction procedures. 

The next thing to do in these situations is to perform a manual calibration.

Machine not being detected by VPanel 

There are times when the machine is functioning, but it's displayed as offline in the VPanel.

Troubleshooting Checklist

◆ Windows Printer Name

• It's important to ensure that the Windows Printer name is accurate. Go to Printers and Scanners to check if the printer's name shows as DGSHAPE DWX -Model Number.
• If the name is correct, right-click the machine icon and select properties. Then, find Device Printers and click on Troubleshoot to run the automated Windows troubleshooting. This should resolve the problem.

◆ Poor USB cable contact

Please check the insertion and removal of the connections. Connect and disconnect both the PC and DWX sides.

• Is the insertion port for USB? Check if HDMI is incorrectly connected.
• Poor USB connection on the PC may also be a factor. Change the USB port. Additionally, please check for any backlash. 
• Sometimes, the cable between the machine and PC is defective. Replace it with different cables.

◆ Potential malfunction due to noise

• Errors may occur during milling if the USB cable passes directly above the power cable.

◆ Extension cable, repeater cable, etc.

• The connection may be disrupted by using cables of 5m or longer, such as extension cable, repeater cable, etc.
• Non-original USB cables is not recommended.

◆ Driver Check (software for operating milling machines)

• Windows icon (the icon in the lower left) > Settings > Bluetooth & Devices (Windows11) /Devices (Windows10) > Printers & Scanners
  • If there is no indication of the connected machine, the driver may have disappeared.
  • In that case, please reinstall the driver. Please check the user's manual.

◆ Printing Errors, printer errors, or “copy 1” is appearing.

• Uninstall the driver and then reinstall it.
• If the error recurs, contact your authorized DGSHAPE/Roland DG Corporation dealer.

No Response From The Machine When Streaming : DWX-52D

Machine Installations

• DWX-50: Installed name in Windows: Roland DWX-50
• DWX-52D: Installed name in Windows: DGSHAPE DWX-52D

Importance of Printer Name

• The printer name in Windows is critical for the connection to Millbox for streaming operations. Ensure that the printer names match correctly to avoid connectivity issues.

Updates and Compatibility

• Always use the most current V-Panel, drivers, and firmware. These can be updated through the V-Panel application.

Streaming with DWX-52D

• When using the DWX-52D, a Job Manager application will open during streaming.
• Windows Security Settings: If Windows security prompts you to allow the Job Manager to process, you must grant permission each time for the application to execute. Failure to do so will halt the streaming process until the permission is granted.

Recommendations

• It is highly recommended to:
  • Use the newest release of the software.
  • Update and confirm that the drivers and V-Panel versions are current.
  • Verify that the machine has installed the printer names correctly to ensure proper streaming functionality.
